San Diego’s Top Realtor

Real estate is a very interesting and dynamic industry – one minute you’re negotiating an offer, the next you’re comforting a client who’s in tears and then you’re picking out flooring samples for a new listing….you’re always busy. And at times, I question why I subject myself to the crazy hours, the never ending “to do” lists and constantly having to deal with agents who have no clue what they’re doing. And every time I get a second to relax and compose myself, I come up with the same few reasons…

#1 – I enjoy what I do. Even if I hate it at times and I want to quit being a realtor at least once a week, I can’t stop coming back for more. I enjoy overcoming the challenges and “wining” for my clients. I love negotiating and strategizing how to get the best result for my clients.

#2 – I meet amazing people. In my 15 years of being in real estate, I’ve sold over 300 properties. I’ve helped teachers, Navy SEALS, doctors, CEOs, first time buyers and even someone who was 102 years old. I’ve made some great friends, heard some amazing stories and even married some of my clients (as the officiant – not the groom). Thank you to everyone who’s been a part of my life and career thus far – I know I’ve been very fortunate to meet and work with all of you.

#3 – I want to grow. Every year, I look at the previous year and set new goals: how many more houses can I sell, how much more money can I make, how can I increase the level of service I provide, etc. And every year, I try and improve – regardless of how well (or poorly) I did. Being a Realtor, I’m able to control (to an extent) my success and I know not all industries have that opportunity.

#4 – I’m actually good at it. For those of you who know me well, I don’t like to do things I’m bad at. It’s a terrible character flaw, but on the other hand, it’s great for those of you who need my help. If I didn’t think I was able to help my clients better than the next Realtor, or if I felt I someone else might put more thought into making sure everything was accounted for, I wouldn’t be doing this. As much as I don’t like compliments and struggle (internally) to promote myself, I can at times admit that I’m good at what I do. I think that my insatiable desire to succeed, combined with my core belief that people should do what’s right, puts me in a very unique position as a Realtor. I’ve never once put my (financial) success in front of my client’s well being, nor have I ever done something that I am ashamed of (as a Realtor).

So thank you to everyone who has given me the opportunity to work with them and I hope to work with many more of you. In 2018, Denny Oh & Associates was ranked #3 for Downtown San Diego and #99 for San Diego County (out of all agents/teams/companies). This is something I’m extremely proud of and thank everyone for helping us with this. Being a two person team, Michelle Plastiras and I are competing with teams who literally have over a dozen agents and spend half a million dollars a year on marketing. Personally, I never want to be a huge team and manage a bunch of employees. I prefer to be hands on and help my clients myself and not have them be shuffled around by multiple agents/assistants.
