F Plan at Electra condos in Downtown San Diego

Posted on August 15, 2009 | by Denny Oh

I just found out about a condo in downtown San Diego’s Electra highrise building that’s going to be in the MLS soon.  This 1,548 sqft condo is by far my favorite floorplan in Electra.  This condo has two bedrooms and a den and sits on the south west corner of the highrise.  Some people have taken the den out which opens up the living room, but this particular condo has left it intact.

If you’ve read some of my other posts on Electra, you may be wondering why I’m advertising a condo that’s for sale in there.  The truth is, I don’t have any problems with Electra, I just wish some of the floorplans were laid out a little better.  True, no building is perfect and maybe I’m being a little too harsh on Bosa and Electra.  Then again, maybe it’s because I expect so much out of them, I can’t not be let down!  In either case, any Bosa building, in my opinion, is still going to be a great home.

Going back to this downtown San Diego condo deal though.  This F plan at Electra is going to be priced very low – we’re talking in the mid-high $300/sqft range!  Granted, you’re not going to get much of a view, but can you really expect to at this price?  Another thing, is that this will only come with one parking spot, even though it’s a 2+den.

If you’re interested in the best floorplan at Electra for an unbelievable price, give me a call.  Again, like almost every other deal I talk about on my blog, this is not my listing…I just think it’s a great deal!

I appears that the Greedy Bosa’s ways has finally caught up with them. For years, they were selling multiple units to investors who artificially inflated the prices which made the people who wanted a home, could not afford it, or deliver pizza to make ends meet. Now, Bosa is having a fire sale because previous buyers walked away from the overpriced pieces of glass and metal. San Diego real estate can learn from Las Vegas’ City Center(lowering prices)

Juana – was Bosa greedy? Or were the investors? Yes, prices were “artificially inflated” but the good news is that prices are back to ’03 prices in many cases. Bosa will have their hands full trying to sell of their inventory, no doubt. I think it’s a great time to buy in San Diego, but there are exceptions. I’m guessing we’ll still see a decent hit at the higher price point, but not at entry level.

I guess we’ll have to wait and see…
