Pacific Sotheby’s International Realty!

Windermere Signature Properties has become the newest Sotheby’s office in San Diego county. We’re now part of Pacific Sotheby’s International Realty.  Sotheby’s is one of the top names in real estate worldwide and is quickly becoming one of the best real estate brokerages in San Diego.  As a company, Pacific Sotheby’s grew 60% from 2011 to 2012.

Pacific Sotheby’s is led by CEO Brian Arrington and his partners Steve Games and Nyda Jones-Church (founders of Prudential California Realty).  Aside from having a better brand, greater exposure (for sellers) and more resources, not much else will change.  I’ll still answer the phone when you call and I’ll still be the one helping you with your real estate needs.

If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know.  Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you!

How Does Redfin Work?

The other day, I received a call from someone who wanted help buying a condo downtown.  He had been reading my blog and felt that I had a good grasp on the market and knew what I was talking about.  That was the good news.  The bad news was that he had been looking at Redfin’s site and saw that they offer a cash rebate when you work with them.  The question was, is it better to work with me (who he felt had superior market knowledge and experience), or a Redfin agent (who would presumably save him money).

Denny Oh – 2011 Summary

Screen Shot 2012-01-03 at 2.26.11 PM2011 was an interesting year for many of us.  For me, 2011 brought some significant changes to my life – most importantly, I left the beach and moved downtown, sold my old condo and I took up flying.  I met some incredible people/clients/friends and got to visit Indianapolis(went to the centennial Indy 500), Chicago (witnessed the rainiest day in Chicago history – 6.91 inches) and Austin(Franklin’s BBQ and the Salt Lick) and I went on my first cruise.

Professionally, I had one of my best years.  I was lucky enough to complete 29 transactions, totaling in over $8.5 million in volume($8.577M for those who are

Navy SEAL Donation

Over the last 7 years in real estate, I’ve been fortunate enough to meet and work with several Navy SEALs and other military personnel.  I recently received an email from one of my past clients who’s a SEAL and wanted to share some info:

I am sure everyone is aware of the 31 heroes that were recently lost in Afghanistan.  If you would like to show your support and gratitude for the sacrifice these individuals made to protect your freedom you can contribute to the Navy SEAL Foundation.

Donations to the Navy SEAL foundation go to help and support all the families/children of the fallen, not just those involved in this recent tragedy.  No need to respond/reply to me…just please donate.

Le Flâneur

This has absolutely nothing to do with real estate, but I thought it was amazing and wanted to share.  Enjoy.

Moving on…to Windermere

Wre_color_stackedI started real estate in the summer of 2004, not knowing anything I was doing.  I signed up with Prudential in Carmel Valley because I’d heard they had a great mentor program.  A year later, I joined a top team and moved downtown.  Fast

No Place Like Home…

Well, after three very long, but fun-filled weeks, I’m finally back home and of course, back to work.  For those who are curious, I travelled through Prague, Munich, Berlin, Frankfurt, Paris, Amsterdam and London.  I’d have to say Paris was my favorite(by far), but every place I visited was great and I’d love to go back.

With that said, I’m very happy to be back in San Diego and back to work.  As much as I appreciated seeing all these great places, I still love the fact that San Diego is my home!  I apologize to all of you who I wasn’t able to respond to as quickly as I normally would, but am ready to go now.  Please let me know if you need anything.  I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Why Denny Oh is better than a Team of Realtors

In real estate, many people feel that working with multiple agents is a good thing – the more eyes and ears you have, the more chances you have to find what you’re looking for…right?  Well, like many things in life, what sounds good, doesn’t always translate to reality.

Thank You

As I enter my last week of my “youth, ” I sit here wondering what I’ve done with my life and about what I have to look forward to.  In the 6 years I’ve been in real estate, I’ve seen, done and learned a lot.  I’ve seen agents come and go and I’ve seen property values rise and fall.  And while I still have a lot to learn, I do know that I’m very thankful for all the great people I’ve been able to work with and help.

I know I’ve been lagging in providing new posts lately and promise that will change.  In the meantime, thank you all for reading and giving me the opportunity to help you.  If you have any questions, suggestions, complaints or anything, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Thank you again and I look forward to hearing from you.
