So when I saw it come on the MLS, I literally did a double take and had to make sure I was reading the info correctly. Over 1700sqft for less than $300K in downtown San Diego?! It sounded too good to be true and well, it is. The last condo deal I wrote about turned out to be a not so great deal. I saw the condo come on the market and wrote about it before I got to see it.
Well, the condo was large and it was in the building it said it was – Samuel Fox Lofts – which is a nice building. However, what the listing failed to say, was that the condo had no windows! Well, it does have two small “skylights,” but aside from that, it’s pretty much a cave. It turns out that this condo used to be the building’s storage room and was converted into a loft and sold to someone(I’m glad I wasn’t their Realtor!).
The space is definitely large – over 1700 sqft, but I’m pretty sure they just took two rooms and put a doorway in between them. There are two kitchens and from what I recall(rather, from what I could see from the light of my cell phone), there were two “bathrooms.” I use the work bathrooms very loosely though. But if you really like darkness, this place would be perfect for you. Just don’t expect to have any natural light and I hope you like wide open space!
Sorry guys…this one turned out to be not such a great downtown San Diego condo deal. Stay tuned for more…
