30% off Sale at Harbor Club

The Harbor Club towers in Downtown San Diego are probably two of the most recognizable buildings in San Diego. The prestigious black and brown towers sit at the edge of the waterfront and look like nothing else in the area. With a maximum of only three condos per floor, the views from these condos are phenomenal and for the most part, are also very protected.
It’s not uncommon for owners at the Harbor Club to own several properties and as a result, these luxurious towers can see empty at times. I think what most people like about the building is it’s charm and classic feel. The location and views aren’t too bad either!
For those of you who thought you could never afford the buy in a “nice” building, here’s your chance. Unit 505, a 1,036 square foot 1 bedroom condo is currently for sale with an asking price of $415,000. This condo sold in February of 2007 of $578,000. That’s almost a 30% price reduction in two years!
I know some of you are waiting for condos to be 50% off of what they used to be, so don’t worry about this deal. Just keep waiting. Sure, homes can sell for 50% off, but from what I’ve seen, it’s a rarity. And on top of that, you only see that kind of depreciation when the owner was crazy and paid WAY too much for the home, negating the fact that he’s now selling it for half of what he paid for it.
Unit 505 at the Harbor Club has wood flooring, granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances and an upgraded master bathroom with travertine flooring. For those of you who have been in any of the Harbor Club condos, you’ll appreciate the updated look(it’s common for Harbor Club condos to be dated and some have not been changed since they were built in 1992).
There’s not much of a view from this unit, but at $415K, do you really expect one? Recent sales include a 9th and 14th floors at $490K and $625K respectively. Those sound like great deals for the Harbor Club location downtown. I remember those places selling for astronomical prices just a few years back.
That’s the beauty of today’s market. People can now actually afford the homes that they dreamed about living in. The only problem is…is that people are still waiting!
