Hard Rock comes to San Diego

HardrockAlmost a year ago, the Hard Rock hotel opened its doors in Downtown San Diego. This condo-hotel development has been a huge success and while few people realize theres a condo side to it, current owners are happy and excited to own. With huge names like Nobu, Rande Gerber and Hard Rock, how can you go wrong?

Started by Isaac Tigrett and Peter Morton in 1971, London was introduced to the first Hard Rock Cafe. As its popularity grew, the founders moved overseas and began to expand their franchise in 1982. The two opened several more HRCs together, but eventually Tigrett sold off his share of the company. Morton however, continued to expand and in 1995, he opened the first ever Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. As we all know, this was a huge success and has been monumental in growing the Hard Rock image.

RockstarsuiteThe Hard Rock Hotel in San Diego, again, is a condo-hotel. This means that each room is owned as a fee simple property, but the condos are hotel rooms and can be rented out. Imagine a 4 Star hotel in an incredible location, add the fact that its in an even better location(sunny San Diego) and then add the fact that you can own a part of “ thats the Hard Rock San Diego. And did I mention that its a HARD ROCK HOTEL?

There are 420 rooms that consist of studios, one bedrooms and for those who really want to party, there are the Rock Star Suites. Owners at the Hard Rock Hotel, Rock Royalty, have priority access to the Gerber bars and to Nobu. They also get first dibs on concerts and events that come to the Hard Rock.

HardrockconferenceLocated across the street from the San Diego Convention Center(which is expanding) and in the heart of the famous San Diego Gaslamp Quarter, the San Diego Hard Rock is an incredible venue. Patrons can enjoy a drink at the Sweetwater Saloon, or go upstairs to the rooftop and enjoy drinks at Moonstone Lounge.** During the summer, the Hard Rock Hotel hosts Intervention, which is San Diegos slightly tamer version of ReHab in Las Vegas.

And if youre looking for a place to stay midweek for business, the Hard Rock has you covered. With over 40,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space (and more on the way), youll be well taken care of. The hotel has multiple meeting/event spaces and is the perfect destination for those who work hard and play hard. And dont worry, if youre over worked, or hung over, you can go and relax at the Rock Spa or work it out at the gym.

MoonstoneLoungeIf youre hungry, you can stop in at Maryjanes, Pinkberry, or grab some incredible sushi at the Nobu. Owners like the Black Eyed Peas and Shawne Merriman often frequent the hotel, and other celebrities such Jessica Biel and Matthew McConaughey have also been spotted there.

Having such huge names (Hard Rock, Nobu and Rande Gerber) come to Downtown San Diego is a clear sign that were growing up. Whether youre in town for business or pleasure, or you live down the street, the Hard Rock Hotel is a great place to be.

Very profound Doug. Thanks for the comment. Why are you reading my blog then?

Sounds like an interesting concept, and a place where the ACTION IS.
Although some of your readers may not share the same feelings, I would hope that they would at least give a reason for their off the wall comment.
Perhaps Doug should GET A LIFE and crawl back under his rock until he has something of value to add.

Thanks Citiboy. The Hard Rock definitely isn’t for everyone, but I never said it was. People like Doug are great though…they don’t think I know anything, but they continue to read my blog. It’s fun to hear what people have to say though…even if it’s worthless info.

    “how can you go wrong?”

Take a look at the prices since you posted this article (with the above quote) and the current sales price. The bad advice is what I was talking about. I guess I should have made it a little clearer. My bad.

Your new article with the ROI regarding this hotel makes a lot more sense.

Thanks for the comment Doug. I’m pretty sure the highest priced HRH unit I promoted was $199K. Am I wrong? I still think the HRH is a great buy.

  7. With the world slowly moving to the much-dreaded energy crisis, it is important that we reduce our dependency on non-renewable sources of energy. Non-renewable sources being renewable are about to get extinct. Renewable energy solutions refer to those energy solutions that can keep churning energy without exhausting the resources. Three types of energy solutions fall into the category of renewable energy solutions: solar energy solutions, hydro energy solutions, and wind energy solutions. Anyways, you can read more about it here…
