Wow, what a ride! While we were enjoying our Martin Luther King Holiday, Asian and European markets were in a free fall. It turns out that yes, the U.S. economy is still the world’s leading economy. The old adage “when the U.S. sneezes, the world catches a cold” seems to hold true. While some European and Asian countries seemed confident that they were finally independent of our economy, it turns out that with the U.S. flirting with a major recession, their economies suffered right along with ours.

As a Realtor, I like many of you, am on the run a lot and don’t always have the luxury of being at my office. And in a time where a 5 minute response time is 5 minutes too long, I depend on my phone and my laptop. And while we all have problems with technology, the fact is, we can’t live without it. What would you do if you had no cell phone? Forget the PDA functions, I mean just the capability of sending and receiving calls from virtually anywhere you want!

I recently went on a tour of the new Electra – San Diego’s tallest residential building. I was with my team, going through some of our new listings and I took some pictures while I had the chance. This will be one of San Diego’s most sought after buildings.
BOSA Development has delivered another incredible building. The views, the lobby,

I recently came across a blog that Lani Anglin, of R.E. Revealed, posted and I know we can all relate to it. Lani wrote about an experience she had with her cell phone and Sprint’s customer support – rather, lack of support. As I read it, I immediately grew tense and thought about the battle I’ve had with Verizon over that last decade or so and wanted to share my tips.

As I try an keep up with San Diego’s current events, both in real estate and not, I try to visit other people blogs to stay informed. One of the sites I frequent is www.sandiegoish.com. Yes, I may have been influenced by the brilliance of the name, but it’s still a great site.

Balboa Theatre, named after Vasco Nunez de Balboa, was originally built in 1924 for a mere $800,000 by the Balboa Building Company. After going through some changes and being renamed in 1930, to the El Teatro Balboa, the United State Navy took it over in the early 1940s to house sailors. Then after just escaping demolition, the City of San Diego finally deemed the theater a local historical building in 1972.

As a kid who went to a university that primarily focused on science and engineering, that didn’t even have a business program at the time, I have no idea why I went there to study marketing. As it turns out, it was one of the best decisions of my life. It was in college that I met some of my closest friends and found out that I wanted to become a Realtor.

Happy New Year! We kick off the first full week of the New Year, only to see interest rates drop to the lowest levels in weeks. There is new vigor in the market place. Phones are ringing, people are busy and many buyers feel that now is the time to buy.
Many are predicting real estate to finally settle at the “bottom” point in 2008. With interest rates this low, people who have been waiting on the sidelines for the “right time to buy” are now getting into the market.
