Thanks for the input Raye. I agree, the waterfront needs to be developed and should be something great...an area that is attractive and beneficial to the community.

And I think with any large proposals, you're bound to get opposition - right or wrong. We'll just have to wait and see what happens.

So, Ian and SDNBCC have decided that by filing numerous lawsuits that will "take years to resolve" is the solution to developing the waterfront in a way his group deems is "so attractive that visitors want to return to them". I find those statements arrogant and self serving. Suppose some or most of us find the current proposed projects to be attractive enough to visit and revisit and Ian and his groups' opposition is merely obstructionary? Because we are not filing lawsuits opposing his lawsuits, does that make us wrong and him (them) right? Personally, I like the project, I like the Lane Field project, I like the concept of the waterfront being developed and improved and providing a variety of options for residents and visitors. I don't like medieval thinkers that do nothing but complain and criticize and restrict the evolution of San Diego into a world-class city because of small town mentalities.

Thanks for the update Ian. I was under the impression that the Lane Field development, the 2 hotel towers, were going to begin construction in the Spring. Am I behind?

Actually what SDNBCC wants is a more public discussion of what should be done with the NBC property. It was a gift from the city to the Navy circa 1930 for war purposes only not as suites for desk-bound admirals.

We hope and think it likely that this property will revert back to the city in the near future. Then we can design public spaces that are so attractive that visitors want to return to them.

There are currently six law suits involving the property that will take years to resolve.

The Lane Field development will also face vigorous opposition.
