My parents moved from South Korea to Los Angeles before I was born and in 1980, they moved to Redondo Beach and they had me. It was in Redondo Beach that I grew up and then moved to San Diego for college in 1998. I attended the University of California, San Diego and majored in Communications. Since then, I haven’t wanted to live anywhere else. I love San Diego and everything about it.
Recently, I took a trip to Korea to visit my relatives. All of my extended family still lives in Korea, so I don’t get to see them often. In fact, before a few weeks ago, it had been 15 years since I last saw them. Most of my relatives live in Taejon, but we have some in Seoul as well. It was great visiting Korea
again, as it’s gone through so many changes since I’d last seen it.
My favorite part about my trip was definitely seeing all my relatives. The last time I visited, all my cousins were either too young, or too old for me to hang out with. This time, I got to spend some time with them and get a quick glimpse into their lives. Having grown up speaking both English and Korean and being exposed to both cultures, I can appreciate the differences, as well as the similarities.
As a Realtor, I feel that I can help the Korean community here in San Diego and offer them the same level of professionalism and expertise that I do for all my clients and also offer them my knowledge of the Korean language.
